4 Reasons to Include A/R Coating
Is it time to update your current pair of glasses? Or perhaps you are about to buy your first pair?
Either way, glasses technology has come a long way over the years and that includes the Anti-Reflective (A/R) coating for our lenses. This A/R coating is an easy way to make a good pair of glasses great!
1) More aesthetically pleasing
Have you ever noticed in old pictures that anyone who happens to be wearing glasses usually has the image of their eyes blocked from the huge amount of glare reflecting off their lenses? That’s because this was a time before A/R coating. Back then, all that glare would show up on our lenses, essentially shielding our eyes from view anytime you took a picture with a flash or out in the sunshine. Nowadays, Anti-Reflective coating makes lenses more “see through” so that people notice your eyes and not the glare.
2) Improve vision
In addition to removing the glare from the outside of the lenses, A/R coating will also reduce the amount of glare that you see through the lens. You’ll notice the improvement most dramatically when looking at the bright screens of electronic devices or watching oncoming headlights when driving at night. This allows your vision to be at its best at all times!
3) Reduce eyestrain
Now, with the glare on either side of the lenses taken care of, this allows your vision to be that much better and your eyes to be more comfortable. Without the meddlesome glare, vision will be more clear and crisp and eyestrain will be able to take a backseat while you finish your work or finish watching the last episode of the season.
4) Easy to clean
In addition to improved optics, this simple coating makes your lenses much easier to clean and to keep clean! A/R coatings help to repel water, dirt and oil from your lenses so that you can focus on the task at hand instead of finding a cleansing wipe.
Many first time glasses wearers might see A/R coating as just another added expense or “add-on”, but this lens treatment is a must for anybody who wants to get the most out of their glasses and their vision. For even more information on A/R and other lens options, feel free to contact us!
