When you work at a computer for any length of time, it's common to experience eye strain!

It’s common to experience eye strain, blurred vision, red eyes and other symptoms of computer vision syndrome (CVS). This is because the visual demands of computer work are unlike those associated with most other activities.

If you’re under age 40, eye strain or blurred vision during computer work may be due to an inability of your eyes to remain accurately focused on your screen or because your eyes have trouble changing focus from your keyboard to your screen and back again for prolonged periods. These focusing (accommodation) problems often are associated with CVS.
If you’re over age 40, the problem may be due to the onset of presbyopia — the normal age-related loss of near focusing ability. This, too, can cause CVS symptoms.  What can you do? For starters, have a comprehensive eye exam to rule out vision problems and update your eyeglasses prescription. Studies show that even small inaccuracies in your prescription lenses can contribute to computer vision problems.*
If your glasses are up-to-date (or you don’t need prescription eyewear for most tasks) and you continue to experience eye discomfort during computer work, consider purchasing customized computer glasses. These special-purpose glasses are prescribed specifically to reduce eye strain and give you the most comfortable vision possible at your computer.
Are you tired of letting the glare of your computer bother you all the time and then wondering why your vision is getting worse and worse? The consistent glare from a computer monitor isn’t exactly the healthiest thing for your eyes.

VS Eyewear would like to introduce Sheer Vision. Sheer Vision is a line of superior quality, anti-glare filter glasses for the computer eyewear market. Our company devoted the necessary time and resources to developing an Anti-Glare Computer Eyewear product that not only does the job, but is the most comfortable and stylish to wear.

Here’s how we did it…Sheer Vision is an enhanced polycarbonate plastic lens material with a unique coating applied to both the front and back surfaces. The coating creates a unique physical characteristic on the lens that resembles an oily residue or a drop of water in a puddle. This unique coating eliminates the glare from any computer monitor while the enhanced polycarbonate material blocks the harmful UV light rays coming from the screen. These UV lights are normally very dangerous to the retina. The combination of these two materials on a single lens allows the user to view the computer monitor with a softness and a contrast between colors unlike ever before.

Not only do Sheer Vision products reduce glare and UV light intake, but our state of the art lenses ALSO reduce headaches that usually are caused by prolonged, unprotected exposure to the persistent onslaught of harmful rays from all computer monitors.
All of our glasses come standard in a polycarbonate double sided anti-reflective scratch coating and UV protection. They are available in either a clear, peach or pink lens tint.  They will come with no power unless you specify the diopter you are looking for.

If you do wear reading glasses and require a magnification power you will find that a lower power is needed for computer use and these are not readily available over the counter. Of course the lowest power in reading glasses would be at only .25 Diopters. Not really for reading but for that intermediate distance of between 22 inches and 30 inches to your computer monitor.  All of our glasses are available standard with no power or you can purchase them starting at +0.25 and going to +3.00 powers.
Too strong a positive diopter adjustment will not permit clear focus at the distance of a computer monitor but too weak will not give as much relief from eye fatigue.
Conclusion: It is better to have too small a positive diopter correction than too strong since you can always move back a little further (usually only inches)! Since these lenses are made in .25 Diopter increments you should always choose the closest LOWER strength of lens.
