Lampworking Glasses – Kingston Black Frame with Sodium Flare Polycarbonate Lens

The Lampworking Glasses Kingston frame with polycarbonate lens is very efficient in filtering sodium flare, in addition to providing good ultraviolet protection.  It is very comfortable for viewing under high ambient light conditions such as when working with glowing heat sources for a duration of time. Also, although it has a relatively low luminous transmission of 38%, it is not recommended for Lampworking where Infrared protection is needed.  The Lampworking Glasses Model EQ304 are more for working with soft glass and clear borosilicate glass similar to Didymium glasses.

Lampworking is a type of glasswork in which a torch or lamp is used to melt the glass. Once in a molten state, the glass is formed by blowing and shaping with tools and hand movements. It is also known as flameworking or torchworking, as the modern practice no longer uses oil-fueled lamps.
