Description

Lampworking Glasses Model Q300 is a plastic wrap frame which incorporates a rectangular shape and a durable and lightweight design which assures a secure fit.  The Lampworking glasses Model Q300 is a semi wrap around frame with removable side shields and prescription available. These RX safety glasses are made of high quality TR-90 nylon, which ensures a durable, lightweight, chemical resistant safety glasses frame.

This polycarbonate is very efficient in filtering sodium flare in addition to providing good ultraviolet protection.  It is very comfortable for viewing under high ambient light conditions such as when working with glowing heat sources for a duration of time. Also, although it has a relatively low luminous transmission of 38%, it is not recommended for glassworking where Infrared protection is needed.  This filter is more for soft glass usage

Lampworking is a type of glasswork in which a torch or lamp is used to melt the glass. Once in a molten state, the glass is formed by blowing and shaping with tools and hand movements. It is also known as flameworking or torchworking, as the modern practice no longer uses oil-fueled lamps.
