Sunglasses Features

Costa Del Mar remains a popular brand thanks to the excellent construction and innovative yet practical features. For example, many of their models are designed with side ventilation to help prevent fogging and manage sweat.

Options for a Comfortable Fit

The glasses are designed with rubber nose and temple pads. They are also carefully crafted to offer a good fit for a wide range of head shapes. The Costa team’s goal has always been to offer super-comfortable glasses. This is supported by the lightweight construction. You can easily forget that you are wearing sunglasses at all, even during all-day use.

The excellent fit also helps to ensure that the glasses will stay in place. When you are fishing or otherwise enjoying the outdoors, knowing that your glasses will stay on your face is always a plus.

Multiple Frame Materials Available

There are a few different material options for your frames. These are the options you need to know about:

  • Bio-Based Nylon: With this co-injected, bio-based nylon material, your glasses will be lightweight and extremely strong. This is the most common material for Costa prescription sunglasses and non-prescription models.
  • Acetate: Many people enjoy the warm, luxurious feel of acetate. It is strong, light and hypoallergenic. It is ideal for layered designs with rich colors.
  • Metal: Glasses have always had metal frames as an option. With marine-grade, corrosion-resistant Monel and titanium frames, Costa offered metal glasses that are ready for aquatic use.
  • Combination: With nylon, acetate and metal, these frames offer a great combination of durability, performance and style.
  • Rimless: Some people love the look of rimless glasses. You can find these in a few of the above material options. They are ultra-light and look great.

Robust Hinges

Hinges are the literal weak point of many glasses. Thus, Costa has invested time and effort into making the most robust hinges possible. They keep their shape and ensure a consistent, comfortable fit. No matter where you take your sunglasses, you can be confident that they will stay in excellent condition. The frames may feature integral, optical spring, snap or five-barrel optical hinges. No matter what you choose, you will love the look and feel of your sunglasses.
